The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers. The interim upside was driven by strong sales of overactive bladder treatment Gemtesa and other products in the United States, a weaker yen than assumed, and selling, general and administrative expenses and research and development expenses coming in slightly below expectations excluding foreign exchange effects. For the full year, the company expects US sales to exceed plan and revenue to increase following a change in its exchange rate assumptions, as well as higher gross profit resulting from increased revenue, while also anticipating higher sales-related expenses to support sales expansion.
