「The Company has applied the "Accounting Standard for Revenue Recognition" (Accounting Standards Board of Japan Statement No. 29, dated 31 March 2020, hereinafter the "Revenue Recognition Standard") and related standards from the beginning of the first quarter of the current consolidated fiscal year. Until the previous consolidated fiscal year, the Company and its consolidated subsidiaries applied the percentage-of-completion method, using the cost-to-cost method to estimate the percentage of completion, to commissioned software development contracts for which the reliability of the outcome could be recognized based on progress, and applied the completed-contract method to other contracts. Beginning in the first quarter of the current consolidated fiscal year, for performance obligations satisfied over a period of time, revenue is recognized over that period based on the estimated progress toward satisfaction of the performance obligation, except for contracts with very short terms. For performance obligations satisfied at a point in time, revenue is recognized upon completion. The progress toward satisfaction of performance obligations is estimated using the input method, calculated as the ratio of costs incurred to estimated total costs. Until the previous consolidated fiscal year, orders were recorded when an individual contract was executed or an order form or equivalent document was received. Beginning in the cumulative first-quarter period of the current consolidated fiscal year, the Company changed this practice and records orders when an individual contract is executed.」
