The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers. The company worked to promote sales of high-value-added products for high-end notebook computers and tablets, as well as automotive applications, and to acquire new overseas customers in the foamed urethane release paper market. At the same time, it cited the global memory shortage, a decline in new vehicle sales in the United States, and substantial increases in the prices of raw materials and energy, including resins, organic solvents and fuel. The reasons for revising the full-year forecasts were based on the results for the interim period and other factors.
