The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers. For the fiscal year ended March 2026, sales of high-performance urethanes increased following the acquisition of the Urethane Systems business, while operating income benefited from lower depreciation and amortization expenses due in part to impairment losses recognized in the previous fiscal year. These benefits were partly offset by weak sales of nylon polymers and other products, lower pharmaceutical sales volumes, and the machinery business no longer being included in the consolidated results. For the fiscal year ending March 2027, the Company expects higher sales volumes of functional products, a 12-month contribution from Urethane Systems, and an improved sales mix in contract pharmaceuticals.
