Stacked from zero: upward is an increase in cash, downward a decrease (in ¥ million). The net change represented by the dotted line is the total of three items, calculated from figures provided by the company.
Net sales increased, mainly due to a 2.8% year-on-year increase in sales volume. For operating income, the increase in net sales, the elimination of factors that had weighed on profits from high-cost inventories, and lower costs at the Vietnamese subsidiary more than offset increases in personnel investment costs, research and development expenses, and expenses related to the new core system. Ordinary income was affected by foreign exchange gains and losses arising from foreign-currency-denominated assets, including loans to the Vietnamese subsidiary.

The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers.Operating income increased during the fiscal year due to the elimination of factors that had weighed on profits from high-cost inventories affected by raw material market conditions, as well as lower costs associated with the full-scale operation of the Vietnamese subsidiary, in addition to higher net sales. For the next fiscal year, increases in research and development expenses, personnel expenses, and maintenance and repair costs are expected.
