The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers. In the fiscal year ended March 2026, the Electronics segment grew on orders for servers used in generative AI and a recovery in demand for general-purpose servers, as well as manufacturing cost reduction initiatives at the Philippines plant. Meanwhile, slowing demand for automotive exhaust-system components and EV-related products reduced net sales and profit in the Ceramics segment. For the fiscal year ending March 2027, the company expects demand in the AI field and for high-performance IC package substrates to grow, and plans to invest approximately ¥500 billion in total in the Electronics segment over three years. No specific reason has been provided for the projected year-on-year decline in net income attributable to owners of the parent.
