Revenue increased due to growth in the number of newly consolidated subsidiaries resulting from M&A and firm orders from customers including social information infrastructure providers. Despite loss-making projects, higher personnel expenses, M&A-related expenses and office relocation costs, operating income increased as higher revenue drove an increase in gross profit, while ordinary income and net income increased due to higher foreign exchange gains and subsidy income.

The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers.Although engineer utilization declined because resignations exceeded expectations and due to loss-making projects, revenue increased as the number of newly consolidated subsidiaries grew as a result of M&A transactions in the previous and current consolidated fiscal years, and orders from customers including social information infrastructure providers remained firm. On the earnings side, despite the burden of loss-making projects, personnel expenses, M&A-related expenses and office relocation costs, operating income increased as higher revenue drove an increase in gross profit. Ordinary income and net income also increased due to higher foreign exchange gains and subsidy income.
