The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers. Both the Lifestyle Products and Mobility & Energy segments performed better than expected during the cumulative first-quarter period. Other factors included increased sales of GIGA School devices, sustained demand for used cars, expectations of continued business growth, and the currently limited impact of the worsening situation in the Middle East. The dividend was increased in light of the upward revision to the earnings forecast and the basic policy of targeting a consolidated dividend payout ratio of at least 50%.
