The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers. At domestic subsidiaries, sales price revisions progressed earlier than expected and sales expansion exceeded expectations. At overseas subsidiaries, product prices were revised in response to higher raw material and other costs. These factors contributed to higher net sales. In addition to the increase in sales, operating profit benefited from stronger implementation of measures to reduce manufacturing costs and the larger-than-expected earnings contribution from the 2 companies that became consolidated subsidiaries in the fiscal year ended December 2025. Ordinary profit and net income also benefited from larger-than-expected foreign exchange gains resulting from the weaker yen and the impact of capital investment subsidies received by domestic subsidiaries.
