The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers.Revenue was roughly unchanged from the year-earlier period, reflecting the completion of large projects from the previous period and the slower-than-expected ramp-up of large projects booked this period. The increase in selling, general and administrative expenses, including personnel and training costs for new hires, was offset by higher unit prices, an increase in high-value-added projects and an improvement in the gross profit margin resulting from reforms to the business portfolio, resulting in higher operating profit.
