The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers. In the fiscal year ended June 2026, performance benefited from larger transaction volumes with brands in the marketing support business, growth in retail e-commerce and stores, and the sale of investment securities held for operating purposes. For the fiscal year ending June 2027, the plan incorporates upfront investment in human resources, AI, DX and systems, store openings and renovations, and higher e-commerce-related costs. The decline in net income is attributable to an extraordinary loss of ¥3,036 million associated with the cancellation of the 24th series of stock acquisition rights.
