The reasons the company gives

The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers.

Net sales increased due to the consolidation of デイトナ・インターナショナル and ウォーターフロント, as well as the recovery of men's casualwear and core brands. Operating profit increased on higher sales, an improved selling, general and administrative expense ratio, and the effects of structural reforms. Against plan, however, the sales shortfall, increased discounting, and the deterioration in gross margin caused by the weaker yen's impact on direct-import brands weighed on results. Net income declined following the reversal of a temporary improvement in the previous fiscal year attributable to tax effects.
