The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers. The dyeing and processing business reported lower revenue due to a decline in orders for wool materials caused by the mild winter and changing fashion trends, production adjustments, reduced make-to-order production, and an influx of low-priced Chinese products. The operating loss widened due to higher raw material prices and increased depreciation. The product sales business reported higher revenue and profit, supported by contributions from 2 subsidiaries that became consolidated subsidiaries. Net income attributable to owners of the parent increased mainly because gains on the sale of investment securities were recorded. The forecast for the next fiscal year was left undetermined because the impact of heightened tensions in the Middle East on energy and raw material prices and procurement cannot be reasonably calculated.
