Factors Behind Changes in Business Performance

The Company proceeded with the restructuring of its business portfolio and the concentration of resources on businesses targeted for growth. However, in the real estate sales business, the retention and development of personnel took time, creating a gap between the expansion of property acquisitions and subsequent sales, while large-scale projects decreased from the previous fiscal year. The Company was unable to offset higher expenses resulting from upfront investment in securing personnel and lower earnings from downsized and transferred businesses and other operations.
