First quarter1 April 2026 to 30 June 2026ConsolidatedJapanese GAAPThe width of the band at each stage is based on revenue. The narrower it becomes toward the bottom, the smaller the proportion of revenue that remains as profit. The dotted outline is the full-year forecast and the band inside it is the result for this period. The progress rate is the result divided by the forecast.

The steel structures segment recorded higher profit due to its high backlog, progress in estimating the projected costs of large-scale construction projects, and the acquisition of design changes. Civil engineering reported lower revenue and an operating loss due to fewer orders, limited contribution during the current quarter because of the long construction periods, costs running ahead of revenue, and the absence of large-scale design changes. Architecture benefited from cost improvements near project completion. Solutions benefited from growth in in-house products and cloud services, projects for the Ministry of Defense, and strong robot sales. Other benefited from strong commuter and air ambulance businesses.

The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers. In the steel structures segment, profit was boosted by a high backlog, progress in estimating the projected costs of large-scale construction projects, and the acquisition of design changes. In civil engineering, however, the small number of orders, the high proportion of projects with long construction periods, and costs running ahead of revenue weighed on performance. Cost improvements in architecture, growth in products and services in solutions, and strong sales in the aviation-related business also contributed to results.
