- FY2026AdvancedAnnual report
「In addition to the 4 coral growth racks currently installed at the sea urchin reef, 12 racks have been installed in Nagura Bay on Ishigaki Island, 8 in Takashima, Nagasaki City, Nagasaki Prefecture, and 3 in Kushimoto, Higashimuro District, Wakayama Prefecture.」
The Company continued its coral research using weak electric currents and expanded its research sites to 4 locations in Japan. - FY2023First statedAnnual report
「Four coral growth racks with different electric-field conditions were installed offshore from Ishigaki Port, and 60 coral fragments produced through asexual reproduction were attached to each rack. Their growth-promoting effects were observed for more than 10 years. The results clearly showed that a weak electric field promoted coral growth and suggested that weak electric currents also improved temperature tolerance.」
Focusing on the weak electric currents generated by the cathodic protection of floating piers, the Company installed 60 coral fragments on each of 4 growth racks and observed them for more than 10 years, demonstrating the potential for enhanced growth and improved temperature tolerance.
