The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers. The increase in sales was attributed to a customer party held jointly across all business formats, sales of limited-edition items, the expansion of new business formats, and growth in existing formats. Overseas growth in Hong Kong, South Korea and the United States, as well as the benefits of store openings since the previous fiscal year, also contributed. Meanwhile, sales of current-season spring/summer products and summer merchandise slowed because procurement of current-season spring/summer products was reduced in order to prioritize selling through the previous season's spring/summer products.
