The reasons the company gives

The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers.

The Apparel Business reported lower revenue and profit due to soaring wool prices, inventory adjustments in school apparel and lower orders for uniforms. In the Interior and Industrial Materials Business, higher orders and price pass-through contributed positively, while delays in passing on higher raw material, electricity and utility costs affected areas such as automotive interior materials. The Fine Chemicals Business was affected by equipment trouble at a customer and difficulties procuring overseas raw materials, while the Real Estate Business was affected by tenant withdrawals. The increase in interim net income was attributable to the reduction of cross-shareholdings.
