Overall net sales were below the year-earlier level due to the decline in the number of stores. In the domestic foodservice business, sluggish customer traffic due to the approach and landfall of a typhoon in June and other factors, as well as the decline in the number of stores associated with the withdrawal from and transfer of unprofitable stores, had an impact. Meanwhile, the prepared-food business captured demand for leisure activities and events and corporate demand, while the production and distribution business benefited from sales of locally raised chicken to customers outside the Group and from controlling the cost ratio through efficient procurement and operational management.
