The reasons the company gives

The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers.

Revenue declined in the Wellness Business due to slower growth in television shopping, contraction of the catalog mail-order market, and intensifying competition among e-commerce marketplaces. On the profit side, higher costs including raw material and delivery expenses, upfront investment in overseas sales, and higher tariffs and product shipping costs resulting from high crude oil prices and U.S. policy reduced profit. Impairment losses were also recorded on shares in overseas subsidiaries and goodwill related to the overseas business due to weak overseas sales.
