「If the COVID-19 situation becomes prolonged or spreads further, the group's performance could be affected by operational shutdowns caused by employee infections, supply-chain disruptions, and the suspension or contraction of customers' business activities. To address these risks, the group gives top priority to the safety of customers, business partners and employees and to preventing the spread of infection. It has implemented internal measures including rigorous employee health management, restrictions on business travel, reviews of work arrangements and the introduction of web conferences. It is also working to mitigate the impact on performance through sales activities targeting business formats relatively less affected by the spread of infection, such as prepared-meal, institutional catering, hospitals and healthcare facilities for the elderly, and by expanding products for general consumers through the Amika business to meet increased at-home consumption during requests to refrain from going out.」
The group disclosed as a standalone risk the possibility that a prolonged or renewed spread of COVID-19 could cause operational shutdowns from employee infections, supply-chain disruptions and the suspension or contraction of customers' businesses. Countermeasures include health management, revised work arrangements, web conferences and expanding products for at-home consumption.
