The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers.Net sales declined because the prior-year interim period benefited significantly from the increase in sales generated by operating an official store at the 2025 Osaka-Kansai Expo venue. Operating profit and ordinary profit increased due to the shift in the business portfolio, solid performance across each business, and lower selling, general and administrative expenses because the Expo venue official store-related costs recorded in the prior-year interim period were not incurred in the current period. Interim net income attributable to owners of the parent declined partly because extraordinary income was recorded in the prior-year interim period.
