The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers. The decline in profit was partly attributable to a one-off gain recorded as non-operating income in the previous fiscal year but not in the current fiscal year. The company explained that sales increased due to higher selling prices, including the effect of the weaker yen, while delays in the completion of its new Singapore plant and the start of operations of its head-office core system pushed back the timing of recognizing related expenses.
