The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers. For the fiscal year ended March 2026, revenue declined due to the transfer of distribution channels for part of the automotive business, the reactionary decline in the foundry business from the previous year, the normalization of demand for PCs, and a decrease in the business serving residential energy storage systems. In addition, gross profit declined as the cost ratio increased amid changes in procurement conditions resulting from fluctuations in the memory market. The expansion of the net position in dollar-denominated assets and liabilities, together with increased foreign exchange losses caused by exchange-rate movements at fiscal year-end, weighed on ordinary profit and below. For the fiscal year ending March 2027, the main recovery drivers are expected to be sustained-high memory prices, new projects, demand for AI servers, and an increase in testing equipment and EMS projects.
