The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers.Demand for semiconductor-related products originating from AI and data centers remained strong in Japan and North America. Contributions came from rare-metal transactions, aluminum and copper scrap transactions, semiconductor-related materials and electrical equipment materials in North America, and components for semiconductor manufacturing and packaging equipment. Higher market prices for aluminum, copper and rare metals, as well as special demand arising from concerns over scrap supplies, also boosted profit.
