Reason for the revision

The forecast had been left undetermined because it was difficult to reasonably calculate demand trends amid concerns that the impact of restrictions on material orders and supply instability associated with heightened tensions in the Middle East would continue for an extended period. It is now possible to calculate the forecast based on the results for the cumulative first quarter of the fiscal year and information and forecasts currently available.

Previous-period resultsConsolidated: net sales of ¥37,323 million, operating profit of ¥823 million, ordinary profit of ¥786 million, net income attributable to owners of the parent of ¥364 million, and earnings per share of ¥93.71. Non-consolidated: net sales of ¥35,840 million, ordinary profit of ¥435 million, net income of ¥123 million, and earnings per share of ¥31.82.
Dividend forecast revisionA new forecast has been announced for an interim dividend of ¥23.00, a year-end dividend of ¥20.00, and an annual dividend of ¥43.00. The forecast payout ratio is 30.6%.

The reasons the company gives

The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers.

There were concerns that the impact of restrictions on material orders and supply instability associated with heightened tensions in the Middle East would continue for an extended period. Although it had previously been impossible to reasonably calculate demand trends, it is now possible to do so based on the results for the cumulative first quarter of the fiscal year and information and forecasts currently available. The medium-term management plan is being reviewed because of structural changes, including a sharp decline in new housing starts, a surge in material costs, progress in M&A and AI and digital technologies, and worsening conditions in the Middle East, as well as an inadequate response to changes in the external environment and investments in internal digital transformation.
