The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers. In the bullion purchasing business, transaction volume increased to more than approximately 150% of the previous year's level against the backdrop of soaring gold prices, lifting operating income by ¥11 million. In the department store business, revenue increased due to promotional initiatives and expanded sales floor space. The company also achieved cost savings of ¥6 million through continued low-cost operations and lower rent expenses resulting from the acquisition of certain sections of the Yokosuka store ahead of schedule.
