The reasons the company gives

The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers.

In Japan, the price revisions by 日清食品 and 明星食品, the consolidation of セリア・ロイル as a subsidiary, and growth in the chilled-food and confectionery businesses contributed to results. Overseas, increased sales volumes, price revisions, contributions from equity-method affiliates in Brazil, China, and Europe, and the weaker yen also drove higher revenue and profit. Although costs for raw materials and packaging materials, logistics, and other items increased, these costs were absorbed through price revisions and business growth.
