FY2026-H1First statedAnnual report
「In Japan, non-scallop-related operations, meaning businesses unrelated to scallops other than Marukichi and the YS Foods Group, remained firm, resulting in higher revenue and profit. Scallop-related operations, however, reported lower revenue and profit due mainly to a decline in sales of products, including frozen scallop adductor muscles. The significant year-on-year decline was particularly affected by the loss of sales of inventories whose carrying value had been reduced following China's ban on imports of Japanese seafood. Overseas, sales to retailers such as supermarkets and to restaurants remained sluggish amid the economic slowdown in Singapore, while costs increased with rising prices, resulting in lower revenue and profit. As a result, revenue from external customers was ¥23,032.504 million, down 1.4% year on year, and segment profit was ¥1,321.784 million, down 31.3%.」
Although non-scallop-related operations reported higher revenue and profit, the manufacturing business as a whole posted lower revenue and profit due to the decline following the previous period's scallop-related sales and the overseas economic slowdown and higher costs.
