FY2027-H1First statedAnnual report
「In Japan's scallop-related business, comprising the scallop-related operations of マルキチ and the ワイエスフーズ Group, sales declined owing to lower raw material sales resulting from a decrease in scallop catches in Funka Bay, despite a certain level of sales to overseas markets. Profit declined because, in addition to lower sales, higher purchase prices for scallop raw materials reduced the margins of some products. In Japan's non-scallop-related business, revenue increased owing to stronger sales activities and the effects of price revisions. However, despite implementing price revisions in response to continuing increases in raw material, labor and other costs, profit declined because some subsidiaries were affected by rising costs before the benefits of the price revisions took effect. Overseas, revenue and profit increased as the performance of companies integrated into the Group in the previous consolidated fiscal year contributed to results, and strengthened sales activities in Singapore and other measures proved effective. As a result, sales to external customers were ¥23,577 million (up 2.4% year on year), and segment profit was ¥1,188 million (down 10.1%).」
Lower catches, lower raw material sales and higher purchase prices in the scallop-related business, together with rising costs in the non-scallop business, reduced profit. Overseas operations delivered higher revenue and profit owing to the contribution of integrated companies and stronger sales activities.
