The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers.Revenue benefited from the start of deliveries of tofu for commercial use to new customers, increased deliveries to customers in the Kanto region, and expanded sales of competitively priced products such as atsuage and abura-age. On the profit side, the effects of higher revenue and improvements in loss rates and yields at the factories outweighed increases in packaging materials, labor and energy costs, as well as higher selling, general and administrative expenses.
