Factors Behind Changes in Business Performance

In the domestic business, sales volumes for some products declined following revisions to shipment prices in response to high agricultural commodity prices, while advertising and sales promotion expenses also increased. Internationally, revenue increased as a result of consolidating Silbury as a subsidiary, while lower selling prices for tomato paste and higher manufacturing costs reduced profit. The weaker yen contributed to higher revenue.
