「Due to the impact of the 2026 Kumamoto Earthquake, which occurred on 28 July 2026, the company recorded ¥902 million in earthquake-related expenses as a loss from disaster under extraordinary losses, reflecting damage to or loss of property, plant and equipment and inventories. The breakdown was ¥600 million in costs related to damage to and restoration of property, plant and equipment, ¥233 million in merchandise damage and ¥69 million in other earthquake-related expenses.」
The 2026 Kumamoto Earthquake caused building damage and merchandise damage at stores in Kumamoto Prefecture, and ¥902 million in earthquake-related expenses was recorded as an extraordinary loss. The breakdown was ¥600 million for damage to and restoration of property, plant and equipment, ¥233 million for merchandise damage and ¥69 million for other expenses. The company also recorded ¥586 million as an expense for the provision for disaster losses to cover future restoration costs and other expenses.
