The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers. In the wholesale business for prescription pharmaceuticals and other products, revenue increased as a result of promoting the Neo-Primary strategy and handling more products with restricted distribution, including specialty pharmaceuticals. However, drug price revisions, higher logistics costs including personnel expenses, and business investment costs weighed on profit. Net income increased due to the recognition of ¥25.331 billion in gains on sales of investment securities resulting from the reduction of cross-shareholdings. For the next fiscal year, the company expects low market growth and higher logistics costs, taking into account the risk associated with the U.S. Most Favored Nation (MFN) drug pricing policy.
