「The principal changes resulting from the adoption of the revenue recognition standards are as follows. (1) Agent transactions: for transactions in which the Group acts as an agent in providing goods or services to customers, revenue is now recognized net of amounts paid to suppliers, rather than at the gross amount of consideration received from customers. (2) Third-party points: points issued by third parties at the time of sale are now recognized as a reduction of revenue, net of amounts paid to the business partner, rather than as selling, general and administrative expenses.」
The revenue recognition standards were adopted from the beginning of the first quarter, changing agent transactions and third-party points to net presentation. Revenue decreased by ¥1,204 million, with no impact on operating income, ordinary income or income before income taxes.
