The reasons the company gives

The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers.

The 30 company-operated stores opened in the previous fiscal year and the 69 ECONOS stores, which became consolidated subsidiaries from the third quarter of the previous fiscal year, contributed to sales. Domestic same-store sales also increased by 8.9%, and higher sales contributed to increases in operating income and ordinary income. Net income also benefited from the recording of ¥1,160 million in gains on sales of investment securities as extraordinary income.
