The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers.Revenue fell short of plan mainly because bundled products and sales struggled in the domestic specialty-store business. Meanwhile, gross margin improved due to a higher mix of directly operated stores and full-price products, progress in selling slow-moving inventory, price increases in the sports wholesale business, and a higher mix of high-margin products, enabling profit to exceed plan.
