The reasons the company gives

The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers.

The additional man-hours required to strengthen the design-check system were absorbed through productivity improvements, resulting in higher net sales. Operating profit declined because the provision for business compensation and other items, calculated using the average values for the past 3 years, increased due to the impact of design-defect projects that arose in 2025. The decline in orders received was due to the reversal of the prior-year booking of a ¥3,120 million large project under a 10-year contract, as well as a shift in the timing of project recognition.
