Factors Behind Changes in Business Performance

Amid continued increases in costs including raw materials, logistics and labor, sales volumes declined and profitability decreased in the vending machine business. Increases in raw materials and other costs exceeded expectations, resulting in the recognition of an impairment loss of ¥14,883 million. In contrast, demand for Japanese tea, including matcha, expanded overseas, while Tully’s Coffee achieved higher revenue and profit through an increase in the number of stores, price revisions and expense controls.
