Factors Behind Changes in Business Performance

Amid growing consumer frugality, net sales remained broadly at the previous year's level in the chain-store and vending-machine channels, supported by activities tailored to each area and the effects of price revisions, while restaurant and online sales grew substantially. In terms of profit, the strengthening of the Group's businesses, in addition to existing profit improvement initiatives, was effective, but profit was affected by a sharp rise in raw material and supply prices resulting from the deteriorating situation in the Middle East, among other factors.
