  1. FY2020SoftenedAnnual report

「The next fiscal year's net sales target was revised to ¥1.2 trillion, taking into account weaker meat prices than assumed when Medium-Term Management Plan 2020 was formulated and the impact of the spread of COVID-19 on food-service products and overseas net sales. The business profit target was also revised to ¥34 billion, taking into account trends in meat prices and feed costs and the impact of the spread of COVID-19. As a result, the business profit margin on net sales was revised to 2.8%. ROE is expected to be 4.9%, as net income attributable to owners of the parent was revised from the ¥35 billion planned under Medium-Term Management Plan 2020 to ¥20 billion, mainly due to the revision to business profit.」

Toward the final year of Medium-Term Management Plan 2020, the targets were revised downward from the previous plan of net sales of ¥1.41 trillion, business profit of ¥56 billion and ROE of at least 7.0% to net sales of ¥1.2 trillion, business profit of ¥34 billion and ROE of 4.9%.

  6. FY2017First statedAnnual report

「In the final year of New Medium-Term Management Plan Part 5, which began in April 2015 and covers 1 April 2015 to 31 March 2018, the Group set targets of consolidated net sales of ¥1.3 trillion, operating profit of ¥52 billion, an operating profit margin of 4.0% and ROE of at least 8.0%. The next fiscal year, ending March 2018, is the final year of the plan. The net sales target was revised downward to ¥1.25 trillion, taking into account weaker-than-expected sales in the Australian business and the impact of lower revenue following the sale of the US hog farming business. The operating profit target, however, was revised upward to ¥56 billion, as the domestic meat business is expected to remain firmer than assumed when the plan was formulated. As a result, the planned operating profit margin is 4.5%. ROE is planned at 8.9%, mainly because the upward revision to operating profit is expected to increase net income attributable to the company's shareholders in the final year from ¥33 billion to ¥37 billion compared with the amount assumed when the plan was formulated.」

For the first time, the final-year targets of New Medium-Term Management Plan Part 5 were presented as a set of figures. The next fiscal year's net sales target was revised downward to ¥1.25 trillion, while the operating profit target was revised upward to ¥56 billion, the operating profit margin to 4.5% and ROE to 8.9%.
