- FY2023First statedAnnual report
「In analyzing climate change scenarios, we assessed the impact on our group in the medium term, 2030, and the long term, 2050, under three scenarios based on the IPCC and TCFD recommendations: ① a 4°C scenario, ② a 2°C scenario and ③ a 1.5°C scenario. The analysis found that under the 2°C and 1.5°C scenarios, transition risks such as higher carbon-tax compliance costs would increase as decarbonization efforts accelerated, while new business opportunities would emerge as consumer awareness changed. Under the 4°C scenario, procurement costs for raw materials would rise and the impact of physical risks such as water risks would become greater.」
The group analyzed 1.5°C, 2°C and 4°C scenarios for 2030 and 2050 and identified transition and physical risks involving carbon taxes, packaging and key raw-material procurement costs, and operational shutdowns caused by water risks.
