Factors Behind Changes in Business Performance

Net sales declined, and operating profit also decreased, due to the allocation of management resources to addressing heightened geopolitical risks and changes in market structure, delays in receiving consulting orders for the Cyano Project, and a decline in the volume of domestic circular materials handled. Ordinary profit decreased despite investment income accounted for under the equity method and foreign exchange gains, primarily because of the decline in operating profit. Net income attributable to owners of the parent also decreased, mainly due to the decline in ordinary profit.
