The reasons the company gives

The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers.

Following the completion of the acquisition of あゆみ製薬, the company’s performance will be consolidated from the third quarter onward, including the second half of the fiscal year. During the first half, acquisition costs, expenses related to Gyre’s acquisition of Cullgen as a subsidiary, share-based compensation expenses and higher research and development expenses were incurred. However, a ¥6,596 million gain from the reversal of accrued interest on Cullgen’s preferred shares contributed to an improvement in operating profit.
