The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers. The Company focused its allocation of management resources on increasing the number of new engagements and improving the quality of engagements, resulting in more contracts for large-scale projects and higher M&A revenue per engagement. Meanwhile, selling, general and administrative expenses increased, including due to higher IT-related costs associated with data-driven management, putting downward pressure on profit. Net income increased mainly because the Company recorded ¥787 million in gains on the sale of investments in the fund business as extraordinary income.
