The reasons the company gives

The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers.

Net sales increased, mainly because sales volumes of the Company’s core wheat flour products remained firm. Profit was pressured by higher repair costs for aging equipment, declines in the prices of by-products used in feed formulations, higher indirect costs including freight charges, and increases in labor and food costs in the food-service business. Net profit declined despite the absence of the loss on damages incurred in the previous fiscal year and gains on the sale of investment securities, mainly because impairment losses were recorded on food-service business stores.
