The reasons the company gives

The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers.

Revenue increased in the Food, Prepared and Convenience Foods, and Other businesses, more than offsetting the decline in Flour Milling. Higher profit in the Food business and other factors offset lower profit in Flour Milling. Net income was affected by the absence of the business restructuring expenses recorded in the previous year, while impairment losses on the India Yeast business and losses related to the closure of the Nisshin Flour Milling Okayama and Sakaide plants, among others, were recorded in the current year.
