Reason for the revision

As each project progresses as planned, net sales are expected to be nearly in line with the previous forecast. Although the impact of continued increases in the prices of materials and equipment, labor costs and other expenses remains, profit margins have improved as order-taking activities that prioritize profitability have taken hold and initiatives to improve productivity have progressed. In addition, the Company expects to record valuation gains on derivatives arising from foreign exchange movements and extraordinary gains associated with the sale of strategic shareholdings and other transactions.

The reasons the company gives

The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers.

While net sales are expected to be broadly in line with the previous forecast as each project progresses as planned, profit margins have improved as a result of order-taking activities that prioritize profitability and initiatives to improve productivity. In addition, the Company now expects to record valuation gains on derivatives arising from foreign exchange movements and extraordinary gains associated with the sale of strategic shareholdings and other transactions. The dividend has been increased in light of the Company's shareholder return policy and the revision to its earnings forecast.
