The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers. The transfer involves hotels that have continued to report operating losses, as part of efforts to optimize the hotel portfolio and improve the profitability of the hotel business. The proceeds from the transfer are expected to be allocated to growth investments in the housing business, capital expenditures at hotels to be retained, and repayment of borrowings. In addition, forecasts for net sales, operating profit, and ordinary profit have been revised to reflect concerns over a decline in orders in the housing business due to the prolonged situation in the Middle East and a decline in net sales following the sale of the hotels.
