The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers. While progress on existing projects was favorable, government subsidy income is expected to come in slightly below the lower end of the forecast range due to delays in recognizing revenue from existing projects and other factors. Although the operating loss was affected by higher yen-denominated costs resulting from the yen's depreciation, it has generally tracked the plan. The loss before tax and net loss are expected to improve as ¥3.8 billion in foreign exchange gains are expected to be recognized as finance income following the revaluation of foreign-currency-denominated cash and deposits and foreign-currency-denominated loans to consolidated subsidiaries at the period-end exchange rate.
